Me and my friends were literally just making jokes about this tonight and its the first thing I see when I boot up Lemmy
I like it here cause they just made rules against tankie behavior. Yes this has kicked up a lot of dirt as the tankies are kicking and sealioning like they usually do when pushed against. But as an anarchist, I like that they have taken this stance as it makes me feel welcome. They also are cracking down on any sort of bigotry in general which I like that they are making it a safe and welcoming place. Lastly, I think the posts are better (although you might be seeing a lot of pro and anti-tankie posting till the dust settles). I just blocked the lemmy.ml instance cause I am fed up with their bullshit
Love how they talk about being anti-sectarian and Hexbear being a place for anarchists despite them enforcing a strict platform that opposes anarchists. God I fucking hate tankies. “Oh you are welcome here as long as you follow our rules to a T and pretty much abandon all of your principles in favor of our authoritarianism.”
This was literally used as a way in the south to prevent black people from voting. Yall failed history, maybe you shouldn’t vote. Or maybe we should remember laws that restrict rights tend to affect more than their target and will be used in bigoted ways, and so we just shouldn’t restrict people’s rights and shouldn’t give anyone the power to restrict others.
It feels like they are getting new photos more often lately. When the scam first started they used the same like two photos a lot. Now it feels like there is multiple new photos just this week.
