Study math for long enough and you will likely have cursed Pythagoras’s name, or said “praise be to Pythagoras” if you’re a bit of a fan of triangles.

What? Why? @Salamendacious@lemmy.world would you care to elaborate? Who curses Pythagoras? Fourier? Sure! Laplace? Fuck that guy AND the goat he rode in on! And don’t get me started on Fermat and his silly margin note joke. But Pythagoras?

IDK about setting clockspeed in an Arduino, but with a raw atmega328 it’s definitely something you’d do. IIRC the atmegas uses fusebits which has to be set during programming. I suspect that you’d at least need to access the ICSP pins instead of programming over USB. At which point you could just build the needed part of the Arduino on perf board and ditch the atmega16u4 and LDO.

If you don’t mind 4MHz @ 3V, then the datasheet claims that will draw 1.5mA https://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/Atmel-7810-Automotive-Microcontrollers-ATmega328P_Datasheet.pdf but if you refer to section 28 in the datasheet you’ll see that you can go as low as 2.7V.

If you really have your heart set on the PP3 battery then sure, but I’d probably see if I could use 3xAA instead. I just spent 10s googling, so my research may be lacking. An energizer PP3 lithium ultimate claims 750mAh, if we, for the sake of the argument, don’t care about discharge voltage curves and just use the nominal voltage, that makes 6750mWh. Varta has a 2900mAh AA, and 3 of those then become 13050mWh. I know that it’s a crude comparison, and you may not get twice the capacity, but still.

If you went for the AAs then your buck will be more efficient as well. Buck converters become less efficient the higher your input voltage https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/528284/why-does-converters-efficiency-degrade-with-higher-v-in so you can double the capacity and increase efficiency with AAs.

The only device I use for YouTube is my android phone, because it runs Firefox and ublock origin. For this exact reason.

Google’s clever though, they broke full screen video in Firefox in Android 13. Now I have to restart Firefox after putting the first video in full screen, after that the videos still play.

I always thought that it was David Duchovny, but I guess that it could be Matthew Perry, or a combination.

10 people or so

I don’t have a lot of friends

My dude! Make up your mind, I can’t name more than 3 people, besides family, that I’d be willing to invite if I absolutely must.

Not being allowed to remove an app has lead about two people to switch from windows in the last 10000years.

As well as a 5.25" floppy disc drive and betamax, you call that a phone?!? No thank you, I’ll stick with my x-phone https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9-nezImUP0w

People complaining about 3.5mm jacks remind of the people who complained about how the iMac G3 didn’t have a 3.5" floppy drive. At first yeah it was weird to leave it out, but it’s been 9 years since the first smartphone launched without a 3.5mm jack (the OPPO R5 in 2014).

If you want ancient tech then your options will be limited.

“Europe is planning”, not a company, not a national agency nor an EU agency, but the whole of Europe? How does that work? I mean we’re pretty much at war, but Russia and Belarus is in on it? How much are Andorra, Monaco, and The Sovereign Order of St. John contributing? What about Overseas France? Do all 13 territories kick in, or is it only the ones that are part of the EU?

Also isn’t a new super computer record set several times each year?

While in the EU Teslas were already “banned”, if you want a proper cat B license, and not just a cat B(78). If you take the test in a car with automatic transmission you get a code 78 license, with which you can legally only drive automatic transmission vehicles.
