That’s what I’m saying. Maybe this couple scored the baby at the campground for $500 and some seedy weed and were trying to flip the baby for profit.

Yea I could see benefits to that kind of thing. One of the greatest benefits of religion is the sense of community and belonging it can offer. It’s easy to get wrapped up in delusional thinking, existence is terrifying, especially when anything can happen at any time for no real reason or warning, thinking something will protect you or care for you sounds like a comforting escape. A community of people with the focus theme being embracing non-religion, supporting each other through fellowshipping, meaning meeting regularly and talking about our shared problems, and focusing on helping each other and the community could be a beautiful thing. Without the focus on theme I feel like a lot of these groups exist already. Lots of non-profits to get involved with that offer community and a sense of belonging.

Dang that was a wild read. Watching them on some of the links in the article be committed to the act, knowing full well it’s an act, still hurt me. I feel something stirring in my mind because of it.

I also really liked the part where they got to meet Dr. Temple Grandin and the conversation that followed. I use to work in a slaughterhouse for cows and we learned a bit about her methods. I wanted to learn a bit about slaughtering animals firsthand. That was an experience, I lasted 3 weeks.

Right? The solid response from the kid makes me think the dad does indeed have some good dad qualities.

Exactly. I wanted to say at my last job that was education based and worked in schools but not for the school district directly. My supervisors and the district would ask if there was anything the team needed. I would always lead with raises and incentives for the clients but they would straight up tell me that they can only get me things that would fall under technology and electronic aid equipment and to try to think of anything that could qualify. They gave me a laptop that I didn’t want and never used, the office did get a ps4 and Xbox one for the kids to play(I beat so many at risk teens at UFC) but we were able to get better mileage reimbursement from .50 to .65

If my 3 year old was going out and renting a movie on their own, I probably wouldn’t stop them from watching it either.

They did a big boy job and deserve that treat.

I believe in you doctordevice, whether you makes changes or not. I have big motivation issues. For me a set of push-ups everyday was enough to start building a bit of a routine for a while. Eventually it was 100 a day and sometimes I’d do sit-ups or squats too.

Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.

I don’t know if Tony Robbins is a cool guy or not but I always liked the quote. Only learning just now who said it so I could share it with you.

Thank you for sharing that. It was a lot of fun to read through. At the end I was like, wait how did I end up on this wiki?
