Did you check your system apps? It’s an AOSP app, so I would be surprised if this were the case. It could be under either com.google or com.android.

I still would be very surprised if this were the case. Unfortunately it seems that OxygenOS does not have public repositories to actually check the source code (!), but there are apps that will actually show you all of your installed packages and I bet one of those would show that it’s installed.

Why would I want to bring another human being into this world? The planet is melting, greed is at insane levels, the future looks bleak. I don’t want my children to suffer and get thrown through the machine.

They’ve been contributing to xz for two years, and commited various “test” binary files.

I use Floccus which syncs via caldav (self-hosted via Nextcloud). In a similar vein, I host ArchiveBox and archive the important stuff that way.

Hating a billionaire for causing the world to be a worse place is not “obsessing over wealth”. That’s quite literally just bootlicker rhetoric to shield the billionaire class. Fuck all billionaires, but especially Musk.

There are so many better options out there that don’t encourage the board to keep a racist, sexist, rightwing nut job in charge. It’s not 2018 anymore, I encourage you to take a look at other options.

The last uber I was in was a Tesla (a Model Y) and it felt like the door was going to come off when I closed it. Not to mention the lack of buttons and the fact that you have to turn your body 45° and look down to see your current speed. Is that really the “best electric car on the market”? I really don’t think you’d be saying that if you were actually willing to explore the market and leave the walled garden.

Yeah, I doubt that, seeing the rest of your comments here and seeing your post history. Maybe in 2018?

Anyway, sure, keep supporting a racist, sexist, rightwing man child. Even if they were “the best electric cars” on the market (they really aren’t), I would avoid them just because of Musk. I wouldn’t be able to publicly display the fact that I gave my money to a blood emerald mine owner’s racist, sexist nepo baby.

I hope your ignorance never wanes so that you can continue to live in your fantasy land. 🙏

I posted this in the other thread, but…

Now congress can tell any company to get fucked and sell to the highest bidder (edit: via bills crafted to target them specifically)? So much for free market republicans.

China will just find another company to buy our data from, because as it turns out, the problem isn’t just TikTok, it’s the fact the it’s legal for companies (foreign and domestic) to sell and exchange our data in the first place. TikTok will still collect the same data, and instead of it going straight to China, it’ll go to a rich white fuck first and they’ll be the ones to sell it to China instead.

And if the problem is the fact that it’s addictive, well, we have plenty of our own home grown addictions for people to sink their time into. You don’t see congress telling those companies to get sold to a new owner.

Why is it okay for domestic companies to collect the same data and sell it to China, then?

This shouldn’t just affect foreign companies if it’s about data collection. It should have been an actual privacy bill. US citizens’ privacy will be no better after this.
