We are in a terrible situation and going into a worse situation,” said Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada. “I don’t know if the bird flu will become a pandemic, but if it does, we are screwed.”

Speculation filled knowledge gaps. Zach Riley, head of the Colorado Livestock Association, said he suspected that wild birds may be spreading the virus to herds across the country, despite scientific data suggesting otherwise. Riley said farmers were considering whether to install “floppy inflatable men you see outside of car dealerships” to ward off the birds.

I would imagine that a large number of these people are enthusiastic supporters of the President-elect.

Right on time for another Trump mandate, what could go wrong?

It’s interesting because the Trump administration, first term, went out of their way to deregulate the FDA and regress the safety regulation around the meat industry which is a reason why we have been getting recalls recently.

This seems like we are heading into a perfect storm.

Beat the same crowds and get your pallet of toilet paper early.

Invest in a bidet/washlet and your toilet paper usage will go down significantly, lowering the impact a tp shortage will have on you.
Plus you’ll feel cleaner down there than you ever did with just tp. 10/10 would recommend.

To add to this - get a pack of cheap washcloths to dry your clean undercarriage and your toilet paper usage is near or realistically at zero. Take that, Big-TP!

Collapse

This is the place for discussing the potential collapse of modern civilization and the environment.

Collapse, in this context, refers to the significant loss of an established level or complexity towards a much simpler state. It can occur differently within many areas, orderly or chaotically, and be willing or unwilling. It does not necessarily imply human extinction or a singular, global event. Although, the longer the duration, the more it resembles a ‘decline’ instead of collapse.
