Itâs funny watching basically every news outlet scrambling to try to and explain why Luigi has so much approval online, when the answerâs rather simple:
US Health Insurers go out of their way to fuck over people in their time of need (the old Delay, Deny, Defend), and the executives get rich off of doing this - so the people hate them, and are more than willing to spit on their grave.
I wanna thank spez for fucking up reddit which kickstarted the beginning of a new era. The Fediverse Era.
You have been federated, do not resist.
To bad about lemmy.world doing everything they can to be reddit 2.0.
Oh well, hopefully this will drive people away from centralization
I am sitting here, in incredible pain from a combined sinus and ear infection, waiting for the antibiotics I need to be shipped to me in 3-5 business days because my insurance will only provide prescription coverage through Express Scripts and not a retail pharmacy.
This same insurance company has also denied to cover a surgery they have prior auth for, denied coverage for routine lab work that is expressly covered, waited months to review disputed charges and gotten them sent to collections, and forced me into a lower tier of coverage twice due to premium increases.
The kicker? I work in the health insurance industry. But Iâm not an exec, just a support worker.
They can try to stop the online support all they want, but they should know that the active censorship will only cause people to go elsewhere. This issue is uniting everyone who watches the evening news, and they canât risk not covering the story because they are hoping to make an example of him.
I fucking hate the push to use Express Scripts. You canât rely on receiving a medication that you need in a timely fashion using them.
Iâve been fortunate that Iâve been able to opt out of them, but insurance did push back, and I still get emails and mail from them as though I use them at all ever. I report it as spam every time, but it doesnât make a difference.
Thankfully it wonât, but I had to deal with more of their shenanigans.
Did you know that they refuse to transfer a prescription if they havenât filled it at least once? I had to call the urgent care clinic back and have them transfer it instead.
Bless the retail pharmacy worker who walked me through how to get everything in order and got me discount coupons. It took them 30 minutes to fill and cost me a total of $15. So I will be okay, but in spite of Express Scripts, who gave me an ETA of the 17th, more than a week after the script was ordered.
You know, they just make clear to us how effective it was. Had they handled it like any other murder, there wouldnât be a support movement that practically calls for others to do the same.

?
I mean like, people would still celebrate the ceo dying regardless. I mean, once the news reported âDelay, Deny, Deposeâ, thatâs it. People would be in support.
Thereâs roughly a murder a day in NYC. How many of them have you heard about? Do you know any of their names or professions?
How many do the FBI get involved with? How much does the NYPD typically spend investigating each one? How many do they swear they will solve?
I hope they are fucking shaking in their boots now. Sounds like they are.

Oh, waiting for the punishment to start.
Authoritarians love to quash protest, and when they canât they start bringing out the riot gear and batons. CEOs and corporations are by default dictators and dictatorships.
I wouldnât be surprised at companies trolling social media and firing anyone that might suggest violence in association with their employer.
(They absolutely check social media. My partner and I work for Fortune 500 companies and long ago scrubbed any association with our employers from our accounts. Nonetheless, my other half works for an employee group to help co-workers with job issues, and it never ceases to amaze me how many stories I hear secondhand about people posting stupid stuff online that gets them fired. The company actively looks for this stuff. Probably preaching to the choir here on lemmy, but just in case anyone needs a reminder.)
