Seems some of the mods on /r/usenet went on a power trip and deleted any post they didn’t agree with. A new sub Reddit was created called /r/UsenetTalk and people are abandoning the old one. In my opinion it is better to just move to Lemmy.

You’d think people discussing Usenet would use, you know… Usenet. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Moderation in this sub has been a huge problem since the prior mod team quit over reddit changes, and nearly every attempt I’ve made to add to the mod team has resulted in drama (justified or not).

A new sub Reddit was created called /r/UsenetTalk and people are abandoning the old one.

It is not quite that new, the other sub has existed for a few years now. Its purpose is to discuss usenet / usenet providers without discussing indexers, automation, or anything like that.

Most of the peeps on Reddit don’t seem to want to move but you can always point them to

!usenet@lemmy.dbzer0.com

!usenet@lemmy.ml

!usenettalk@lemmy.sdf.org (if you want the Lemmy community of the same on the other site)

Personally I wouldn’t push people to lemmy.world, the admins here have taken a hard stance against piracy related topics. Not sure if they will end up locking/deleting this community when they realize people may be using usenet to download more than linux isos :P

What’s a reddit? /s

Like seriously, who cares? Why go there when we know it’s a sewer?

Deals, many usenet providers and indexers provide deals on reddit, so unless you want to pay the full price you need to go to reddit.
