Hi,

I am setting up a lemmy instance for a small private group. They are not very technically literate and I don’t want to have to explain the concept of joining the right communities as part of the onboarding process.

So I want to pre-load all the right default communities to each user when they create an account. Is there a way to accomplish this ?

thanks !

I don’t have an answer to your specific question, but honestly I think learning to subscribe to a community is a really important “tutorial” on using lemmy/reddit. Otherwise they might not understand how to get to each one. You also could just have them look at the local feed so they wouldn’t even need subscriptions.

Yeah, the local feed is where it’s at. No need for subscriptions when the server is small enough.
