Cultivating grass lawns in a place that is so inhospitable to it should in all honesty probably not be allowed, much less be allowed to be required by organizations like HOAs.

I’m definitely thinking of doing this in my front yard. I grew a bit of corn in it last year and wouldn’t mind expanding.

Put some pumpkins in between the corn while you’re at it…harvest both at the same time. It’s what my grandmother used to do

Oh nice, I’ll look into that! I wanted to grow some pumpkins next year already

i’m a little late to this but consider adding beans, and you can have a “three sisters” garden - a synergistic planting where each helps the others and benefits the soil

I’m def trying this in my front yard this next spring. My area is perfect for this, but every time I’ve tried to garden, the weeds take over. But I’ll try again.

Two summers ago, I successfully grew corn and it was amazing!
