It really says something about the state of the Russian military that they have to buy up the trash that’s too crappy for North Korea’s army.

North Korea’s army which, whilst having a stranglehold on available resources in its threadbare economy, hasn’t seen combat since the 1950s. Its actual combat readiness may fall short of its rhetoric.

They have actually made that near impossible since 2020. The amount of successful escapes per year is now less than 10% of before

South Korea is going to have a wealth of embarrassing NK military footage from this to use in their cross border propaganda deliveries. That could damage morale inside North Korea in a way that’s never been seen before.

Fingers crossed this dumb decision hurts their regime hard.

To my knowledge, people close to the borders where propaganda can effectively reach are already quite aware that their government is a joke. They’re just stuck there.

The mortar going off in the cleaning process would set off a sizeable number of other mortars and reduce the amount of firepower the Russians have to kill Ukranians. It would be a net benefit for humanity
