I have to say, the information contained in this article raises significant concerns about the operation of the ARRL.
I let my membership expire after they unilaterally cancelled my paper QST. I’m still mad about that, and the steady trickle of other news doesn’t make me want to go back.
I feel like every year since I’ve been licensed and an ARRL member, I’ve become less enthused by the ARRL. To the point where this may be my last year as a member.
Also a thought: I use a few ARRL links in our side bar I wouldn’t mind changing to non-ARRL links. Open to suggestions.
Hiya, not sure how to see the side bar in a web browser, which reminds me, my account seems to be randomly logged out.
The general sidebar on the right has some links for how to get into amateur radio.
Not a lemmy dev so I’m not the go to on issues. I had that issue on Firefox though.
That’s interesting. I don’t see that on Safari on my Mac.
Edit: fat fingers and autocorrect.
I was a member of the ARRL for a year just to get QST, and found that so much of the American outlook on amateur radio is so different to that here in Europe with allthe stuff about patriotism (what? no.) and prepping and massive amplifiers and driving your pickup truck to the park (here in Austria we do SOTA, not POTA :) ) that it held no real interest for me. The tech reviews were great, though.
