I saw this yesterday at a kids soccer game:
Comedian Bill Engvall once suggested stupid people wear signs so you’d know not to get into a conversation with them. Here’s your sign!
Reminds me of the tweet that a younger veteran wrote. He said he was out shopping while wearing something indicating his vet status, and he was approached by an old man in a MAGA hat. It went like this apparently:
Old man: Thank you for your service!
Vet: Get fucked, traitor.
i wonder what their younger selves would think if you showed them this pic 10 years ago.
edit: found this interesting chart from vox around when this rally happened…
I imagine that people like this have always felt this way to some degree. Maybe because it was a different time back then, or maybe because they were younger (and thus more concerned with peer pressure), they were silent. Now they feel emboldened; for whatever reason. It’s like Pandora’s box: it’s been opened, and even if you close it, it’s too late. It’s out there now.
Isn’t this from a town hall in like 2016? Eight years ago if so. They’d still be into it, think it’s a great shirt and whip out their credit cards.
looks like 2018. but I really don’t think the republican-Russian love affair was a thing any time before 2016.
Ngl this just looks like two old buddies who need an excuse to feel less lonely and part of a community.
It just sucks that the only community they have is a fascist incubator.
