This literally was the last episode of ALF.
They thought it would be a cliffhanger for the next season ; which never came.
They kept saying if he was ever caught he’d be dissected. And he was literally caught in the end. He had a Walter White ending.
There was a followup movie 6 years later, but as you can see from the audience score it wasn’t very good. None of the actors from the Tanner family came back for it.
The family was the Tanners. Gordon Shumway was literally his name from back on Melmac. ALF is an acronym for Alien Life Form and is what the family called him as a nickname.
