The werewolf, one wolf pack, the furry frame - Voruna!
Release date: 2022-11-30
Passive: Voruna has 4 wolf ghostly companions, she can invoke their powers as her passive by holding their respective ability keys. 1 gives parkour velocity, 2 grants status immunity, 3 gives 100% heavy attack efficiency and 4 prevents your death once on a CD.
Shroud of Dynar - Dynar shrouds Voruna with invisibility and accelerates her speed. Invisibility ends when Voruna attacks. For a short time, melee attacks have increased Critical Damage and Status Chance and inflict Bleed. Melee kill an enemy during this time to extend the buff.
Fangs of Raksh - Raksh’s fangs tear into your enemies. 5 random Status Effects are applied at 10 Stacks each on an enemy. On target’s death, spread the Status Effects to other nearby enemies.
Lycath’s Hunt - Lycath hunts to sustain the pack. There is a chance for enemies killed by melee attacks to drop health orbs and enemies killed by headshots to supply energy orbs. Increase the duration of Lycath’s hunt by killing enemies affected by 5 or more Status Effects.
Ulfrun’s Descent - Voruna drops to all fours and prepares 5 brutal charges that lock onto enemies. Ulfrun, the most powerful wolf, leads the attack as Voruna dashes toward her target. The pack deals increased damage to targets and nearby enemies that are inflicted by Status Effects. Lethal attacks double the damage of Voruna’s remaining charges.
Acquisition: Main and component blueprints can be obtained from Rotation C of Conjunction Survival Yuvarium and Circulus on Lua. Also available from Archimedean Yonta on the Chrysalith, Zariman Ten Zero with Lua Thrax Plasm.
Voruna is an outstanding frame, being an agile, highly mobile, invisible nuker with super easy energy economy, at least if you run Ulfrun’s Endurance. She’s able to project extremely spicy slashes over a wide range through the combined action of her 2 and 4. The mobility afforded by using Dynar’s passive is both fun and effective for what she wants to do, and she has gap closers in the form of Raksh and Ulfrun.
Lycath’s Hunt is self-sustaining if you keep priming enemies with Raksh, and kills from Ulfrun will count as melee kills to spawn health orbs, meaning Voruna should essentially never run out of energy.
Voruna’s nice, but could’ve been better if her 4th gave her a unique running animation. Would’ve been cool to see her charging at enemies like a wolf.
Very confusing frame to me to use the abilities and the passive just don’t make sense to me. I feel like the wolf theme was wasted as was the pack theme. I just overall was disappointed in Voruna.
I know I said last week that the upcoming frames are all powerhouses…here we have an exception. She’s not bad and you can make her work, even if some of her abilities feel really clunky to use, but she gets completely overshadowed by all the frames that follow her. I might be a bit biased against her as she is a melee frame and I really don’t like melee much in Warframe, but I don’t think I’m being that unfair when in 2 weeks we will discuss arguably the most powerful frame in the game right now.
