Massive pro-Palestine protests have been organised on a regular basis, activists have targeted arms manufacturers, and dozens of student-led Gaza solidarity encampments popped up on university campuses across the country since the war began.

Electorally, two major Muslim and Arab-led initiatives have emerged out of the response to the war.Though these groups appear to be aligned and are often seen as interchangeable, the groups are quite distinct.

The first group, Abandon Harris (formerly Abandon Biden), has vowed to do everything in its power to get voters to turn away from Harris and the Democratic Party for its continued support for the war on Gaza.

The other group, the Uncommitted movement, began by urging voters to choose “uncommitted” during the Democratic primary cycle as a protest vote against US President Joe Biden. Since Harris replaced Biden for the Democratic ticket, the movement has called for an arms embargo on Israel but is maintaining its support for the Democrats despite not winning any of the concessions it has asked for.

Sure, dilute the one shot we have at getting a reasonable human to convince the US to rein in the violence and destruction. Having the Cheeto at the wheel, doubling down on his hatred of all brown people, will result in so much less bloodshed. I’m sure the R’s will work extra hard to reduce MIC profits by reducing arms shipments to anyone, anywhere, on any pretext.

/s for the completely oblivious.

People who hold their nose when they vote miss an important step, the action after the election.

You don’t just hold your nose every election, you immediately work towards fixing the voting system that forced to to vote for someone that doesn’t represent you.

First Past The Post voting has got to go.

Ftpt will never go under the current parties. They would never give up their power.

Based on the news coverage the second group is the larger one, is it not? I don’t believe a large group of people are actively trying to abandon Harris. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Also, honest question here. What’s the likely outcome for these groups of delegates come election day. Can they not vote? Vote for an independent representative instead of Democrat?
