ClariS have put out an 80’s inspired EP culminating in this Wink cover, which is also remixed. I grew up with the music of Stock, Aitkin and Waterman in the 80’s, and I’d like to think I’d have been into Wink if they had ever made it to the UK then. I find the 80s pop scene in Japan pretty impregnable, so it’s fun to have this insight.

Ha, just came across the video for the original version of the song, which seamlessly continues from the video for Haikarasan ga Toru (although the track on the EP actually comes afterwards). I found that pretty neat.

I have to admit I basically only know ClariS through their anime-related songs. 80s synth-pop was also pretty formative for me I guess, so this was very interesting to me, thanks!

This song must have been really big when it came out, it even has its own Wikipedia page in English.
And the original MV is also available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/iBDnRK9ACTY
