“Back in August of 2016 I created a list of 19 ways that the Nazis pushed Jews out of society[…] By my count, Republicans today are attempting to achieve all 19 of these effects but attacking trans people instead.”

Ngl, this article paints a pretty grim future for America and especially for trans Americans.

I agreed with most of the opinion. However, I found myself often wishing the author had citations for their interpretation of current events.

The Trump administration has made it clear to companies with federal contracts that if any of their employees say anything bad about the administration, those companies will lose said contracts.

Here is one that is just generic enough that I can’t find much in terms of information. It would have been nice for the author to do that. Then again, perhaps would have been simply a bit too to manage for an opinion writer.

Accurate grim view for those of us who can’t leave.

F me. This hit really hard.

I think this line hit harder than any:

More likely than not, the current MAGA base would laugh and revel in photos of trans people having their heads shaved, having involuntary surgeries performed upon them, being correctively raped, and being forced to do manual labor…

…They would. This is not an exaggeration or “I hate MAGA” litmus test, millions would legit cheer this on from their little screens, like it’s the solution to the country’s problems, and social media platforms would egg them on and tailor posts to fit the individual. Hitler’s propaganda apparatus has nothing on us.

F me.

Yeah I don’t see a way out of this either. Collapsing corporate social media would help more than the author realizes, I think, but still.

You have no idea. There are millions that don’t just want public executions without due process, they want to participate. They want to publicly stone people. They’re just waiting for their daddy to say okay, go kill people. Yall-qaeda was a joke in 2016, today its the fascist regime that controls ever facet of the US, including the cucks that call themselves chief of a military branch. The oath is to the constitution, not the commander in chief. They have all proven they’re apart of the dismantling and destruction on the US. History won’t forget.

Considering how the whole room laughed after Trump said to Bukele “You’re going to have to build five more places”? I absolutely believe it. People have been so brainwashed by the propaganda machine, it’s insane.

We came to similar conclusions during 45. We completed our exit during 46.

Trans are what, 0.x% of society? They’re being used in the exact same way the German Reich used gypsies and jews…

1.7 to 3% of the US, depending on how you define it. Or to put it another way, 1 in every 30 people.

Leaving doesn’t work this time, nukes exist. Unless everyone stays and fights the whole world is doomed.

As another poster indicated, if nukes start flying I’m grabbing a drink and sauntering directly towards the expected point of detonation. Having it all be over very quickly doesn’t sound too bad.

Up until that point though? I have already spent most of my life having to fight against society to make room for myself because I’m not wired to just fit in. That’s going to be true wherever I go and I’m OK with that. However, I’m not going to put even more effort info trying to fight what appears to be a losing battle just for the sake of it.

I used to think like this. Now I think “eh, if that does happen, all my problems will at least be solved very quickly.”

Most people aren’t going to want to die for a country that’s hated them all their lives. That’s what staying means.
