Sinners and Stranger Than Fiction so far.
Sinners was a bit of a mess but it was stylish and I thought there was an interesting moral ambiguity to the supernatural element that has kept me thinking about it for a few days.
Sinners spoiler
It is implied that the pagan Irish vampire was similarly oppressed by Christians in the past and he is offering the people in the juke joint the chance to escape prejudice by integrating with a wider society at the cost of becoming more homogeneous and losing part of their black identity.
Stranger Than Fiction is quite old now but a fun drama/comedy with Will Ferrel which seems like it must have influenced The Stanley Parable game.
Two of my favorites:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, been awhile since I watched it all the way through and wanted to do it for the 50th anniversary.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit, not only is it a great noir movie but the comedy is on point too. So many good jokes and references to golden era cartoons and, who can forget the best Disney villain, Judge Doom.
Pulp fiction. Still holds up.
Alien, the og one. It’s hard to believe that the creature isn’t even in the screen much yet the suspend is so high. Ripley looking for her cat frantically is probably the most relatable thing. I like how if they listened to Parker from the beginning the movie just end, he’s right for most of the situation lol.
Interesting post :) Yesterday although not really a movie i introduced a friend of mine to Thunderbolt ill sent him this post see if he wants to share his thoughts.
Watching it the second time was really good it was more clear how dark that show really is when watching it a second time, I loved it, Next gundam show i am gonna watch with my friend is Iron blooded orphans and The witch of mercury.
When it comes to movies i watched Terrifier 3 this weekend with my best mate. And i am a bit divided by that movie, sure it had its shock moments which i enjoyed since im a sucker for those, But the overal story was not as exciting as the first one and please don’t get started on the second one that story was awful.
The third installment of the series was alright for a slasher film but i wouln’d watch it for the story but honestly, Were the terrifier series ever about the story ;)
Technically still in the week i watched the ministry of ungentlemanly warfare, I loved this movie was alot like inglorious bastards but with a little bit more humor in it. Characters were great and i enjoyed the movie. That was my week :D
