(For other English speakers the first lines all say “never again”, and the last Google translate tells me is “is now!” but there may be a better way to translate it in this context)

does make sense. This is the time to remember our past mistakes and choose differently today than we have in the past

You’re correct. It’s “never again is now” as in “the future is now” but in this context it’s the past that shall never happen again and the time to act is now.
