Finland. Definitely the most beautiful country in Europe I have ever visited. Warm summers and freezing cold winters. People that accept “hermits” like me. I might have been a Finn in a former life. Also so many gorgeous lakes. Only downside: mosquitoes, these vile creatures own half of the country.
I think I’m the first one to say it, but yes, as an Austrian I pick Germany. Living here since many years now, and a few more to come. It’s not always perfect, but every country has its disadvantages I believe.
From the mountains of Bavaria to the coastlines in the North, life here is good 😃
I’d have to say America. I know it’s not European, and is my own country, but it’s by far the best country in the world. I mean, look at our beautiful red white and blue flag. I don’t think any country has ever used such beautiful colors.
German here - when I was on pilgrimage on the path of Saint Jacob, I fell in love with Spain. Been to the Canary islands as well and adored both the cuisine, the wine and the people alike. I don’t need the big cities, just give me the small villages, the small, universal grocery stores. If the world would ever go to hell, you’d fine me somewhere in the outskirts of Spain, in one of those small villages with less than 10 inhabitants, standing by the fire, cooking for and together with everyone.
A country is only as good as the people living in it. And that’s where Spain rules in my opinion.
Each has its own merit. I really struggle not Picking my own. It’s central, big and decent.
I’ll go with Switzerland.
