As you may know, lemmy.world is the largest lemmy instance, and as a result hosts most of the communities on the threadiverse.

Do you guys think we should move to another instance? programming.dev is one I have in mind.

Maybe? What is the motivation to move?

LW hosts most of the communities and people in the lemmyverse. they also suffer from slowdowns and delays, and have a some moderation issues.

I’m not intentionally trying to argue just to argue, but what instance isn’t going to have moderation issues? I haven’t seen enough performance issues here to have noticed any trends. Mods themselves are very frequently asshats anywhere you go. It’s the nature of a job that offers power but no other compensation.

Is there something specific that has prompted this move? Some event I missed?

I like the clear Terms of Service here and the accessible admin team. I’ve been part of other servers that were clearly taking a much less professional approach.

My only mark against LW is that they didn’t want to block corporate instances, not that those have been a problem at all.

Well, if there’s a transphobic or misogynist comment somewhere, its usually from LW.
Some servers, like beehaw, block LW.

If you want. Not having everything on lemmy.world is nice I suppose, but it also doesn’t really change anything.
