I want all the money I put in to be refunded in nonsequential bills, and give it to me in one of those fancy metal briefcases please.

Alright I’m just gonna start blocking anyone that posts AI slop. I implore others to join me in letting these goobers post silently to the void.

Nice “gotcha”. Why don’t you ask AI to make me the soyjack and you the chad while you’re at it. If AI hallucinations fed by thousands of hours of stolen labor is what you classify as fun then you can keep it.

i too like to use a program that takes millions of people’s artworks and amalgamates them into something that slightly resembles a phrase i typed into a chat box

Art isn’t a job that needs increased “productivity”.

I work on machines all day grumpy pants. They’re literally my job.

I’m not against AI, I’m against AI art. What we see here isn’t a productivity increase because it isn’t productive. Stay mad though, they say it’s good for your health.

We gotta increase the productivity of meme generation, obviously.

Also the productivity of eating, socializing, and fucking. Those items really make my life a drag, can we get chatgpt on that.

yeah, right?

why spend time expressing yourself with art when you can ask a machine that copies and amalgamates trillions of works from billions of people into something that slightly resembles what you described in a text box? that way, we can be way more 🌟productive🌟!

i’m sorry that you’re the type of person that sees a copyright infringement machine with no creativity and thinks that’s good because you can spend more time being productive.

i’m sorry that you’re the type of person that would see an offer for an AI that can automatically shorten any message sent to you, and think it’s good because you can understand what the person meant faster and you can respond quicker, and think that’s good because you can spend more time being productive.

i’m sorry that you’re the type of person that will never understand what it means to learn and create art, talk with friends, spend time with loved ones, all in the name of spending more time being productive.

I’d like to remind you the luddites were the people who knew how to use the automatic looms. They were the primary people working with the machines, mostly, they didn’t lose their jobs.

Holy fuck… What type of inhumane type of shit is it to look at the arts and go “man I’d much rather be working right now”

The whole point of productivity increases is to give people more time to do the shit they enjoy doing… You know… LIKE ART

Do you need AI to teach your kid to throw a baseball too?

Better hope he’s not warming us up for future plans.

wiki

Aktion T4 was a campaign of mass murder by involuntary euthanasia which targeted people with disabilities in Nazi Germany.

The killings took place from September 1939 until the end of World War II in Europe in 1945; from 275,000 to 300,000 people were killed in psychiatric hospitals…

I’m having second thoughts about getting an official diagnosis 😅

I’m cool just saying I suspect I’m autistic, probably not though. Lovely weather, right?(moves Legos to hidden basement room and encrypts Minecraft and Satisfactory saves)

There are two main points to getting a diagnosis:

  1. Access to mental health services and acomodations, which will often require “proof”. Up to you to decide if you need that.
  2. Getting “closure” and self-understanding. Which is what most “high functioning” adults are really looking for with a late diagnosis. That does not require your psychiatrist to write anything down though. In your position I’d explicitly ask for that.

Counter-point: RFK has access to your diagnosis.

Caveat; an ASD diagnosis probably won’t matter if you already have a history of treatment in another mental illness.

Take me, for instance; diagnosed ADHD at 16, refined diagnosis to ADHD-combined at 21. That was a decade ago, and I’ve been on stims and on/off other meds in the ensuing decade. If RFK gets his ‘detox’ camps I’m fucked either way, yet I’m still hesitant to pursue an on the record ASD diagnosis despite prompting by my doc.

Thankfully my passport arrived yesterday. Maybe I’ll ask for the official diagnosis once I’ve sorted out tickets and a visa…

He’s already talked about “work camps” for people who are “addicted” to things like SSRIs. He was mask-off Nazi before Musk was (if only by a few weeks.)

He’s a disgrace to humanity.

Disgrace to humanity is absolutely right, and somehow still now adequate for the piece of shit he is.

That being said, I can’t find a source for him talking about “work camps” for people who are “addicted” to things like SSRIs. The only thing related to SSRIs and him turning up for me is how he thinks it overprescribed. Could you provide a source that I could read up on and educate myself on?

You overestimate how difficult it is to stand up to so many people so hell bent on you dying. Violence cannot be used as a deterrent on them, because they don’t the consider long term consequences to their crusade. If they did, they wouldn’t do it

You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very “off topic”.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren’t unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don’t rush mod actions. If a case doesn’t need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
