It was really crazy driving from the 100° barren desert into this comfortable 74° cedar forest with an ice cold stream flowing through it. King’s Canyon National Park is worth the visit if you happen to be in the area.
That’s exactly how I felt about it: worth the visit… if you happen to be in the area. A bit underwhelming after the long drive coming from the majesty of the redwoods.
As a bonus, King’s Canyon is also adjacent to Sequoia National Park, which is equally stunning and home to the largest single stem tree, the General Sherman giant Sequoia.
