So I guess Canadians and Mexicans don’t buy Stellantis vehicles.

It is probably likely that Stellantis sources from all three countries, so Canadian and Mexican built cars would also be hit by tarrifs.

The retaliation tariff on cars was good by Carney. There is a list of Canadian made cars out there. Buying them is what will lead to more production here as long as there’s tariffs. Pacifica mini van might have the least competition from US models.

The counter tariffs are needed for the Canadian car lists which should have more media mention. Ford’s export tariff on energy, should also be accompanied (with Quebec help) by an export tariff on steel and aluminum together with strategic metal reserves to keep production up, and make new European markets.

Nationalize the plants and sell them off to compensate and re-train the employees being let go. Bar Stellantis from importing vehicles.

They just said idling for 2 weeks. There is a lot of enthusiasm for Canadian auto sector support that may make it reopen.
