I’ve ordered one thing this week, first in 2 months, was unable to find it elsewhere. Cancelled prime while I was there.

Does anyone need yet another reason to cancel their Amazon account?

They’ll even reimburse you in prorata your remaining subscription term. Literally no reason to wait before canceling right fucking now.

Argue enough and you can sometimes even get the full term back! I did! Really laid into them about their union busting and political donations.

Cool beans, I should do this.

Edit: I did this thank you for the suggestion, I was just going to let my account run out and not renew it. I have not used my account for about 2 months and just planned on not renewing bitting the bullet and not worrying about it but now I get $109 back!

Rule #1: companies have no ethics. Ever.

The only way Amazon will change is if it costs them more than it makes them.

The answer is to boycott them. Cancel your Prime subscription. Find other retailers, or do without. And do NOT go back as soon as they capitulate.

Companies need to understand that shitty behaviour will lose them customers for life.

Economists are the least moral people from any field. My economist friend agrees. They see money as a number, not as a resource people need to survive.

An economist may agree with the statement: “A starving honebee requires more honey to recover than it will produce in its life. Therefore saving it is a waste.”

What the statement lacks, is context. Why is the bee starving to begin with? They eat nectar from flowers. So there aren’t enough around. Humans are good at mowing their lawns and placing tiles in their gardens instad of anything useful. Another part is, where is their honey? The bee’s life saving they use to survive winter? Who took it? The humans. And who has the audacity to define the life of a single bee by it’s ability to produce honey? The human.

Now swap worker bee with working class, human with the rich, and honey with money.

“Oh these people require medical aid? As if their labour is worth the investment in ther health!”

Remember, any person providing a service to society, is a valuable person. Be it store cleric or garbage man.

The answer is to force proper rules upon these US hyperscalers. Fuck them all, if they want to do “business” outside of the impoverished united states, they have to obey the rules of proper countries

How strange that this is not seen as a punishable offense? I’m not Canadian, not familiar with sedition laws there, but there are countries where articles like these would put you in jail immediately.

Edit: Maybe someone with legal experience can explain it using this as reference: https://www.criminalcodehelp.ca/offences/crimes-against-authority/what-is-sedition/ ?

Wow, I figured we didn’t have laws like that here. A few years ago we had a bunch of honkies drive on down to Ottawa. They had a website with their plans, and they literally said they were going there to overthrow the government. If you want here is a Wikipedia article about them

They got some house arrest

Edit: I have added a Wayback link to the MOU.

Not to worry.

Canada Unity worked hard to scrub it from their servers after the fact, claiming it was being used incorrectly (aka they realized they had published evidence on their website after having whipped up a frenzie about authoritarian rule (and fell silent just a couple years later when the Premier started doing actual charter and rights violations)).

They also did an award ceremony for the on the ground leaders; I guess if you instigate enough fights with homeless people in shelters and cause X billion in economic damage, you gather enough PPoints for a victory lap and some timbits.

But it’s been archived.

For none Canadians, they are called honkies because they honked their horns for week, not because they are country bumpkins.

I’m positive there was some overlap, but still mostly separate circles in a Venn diagram.

Although I disagree with the items being sold I wouldn’t want to live in a country where you’d go to jail because of it.

Try selling/saying/teaching/thinking something pro Palestine in the united states (are they even a real country when it’s just a bunch of gay states in a civil union?) and see what happens.

We have a “charter of rights and freedoms” in particular: https://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/csj-sjc/rfc-dlc/ccrf-ccdl/check/art2b.html. So as much as I dislike this kind of stuff they are still allowed to have it.
