If you’re going to revolutionize it, it’s probably a good idea to make Minecraft 2. Lots of people won’t be happy about the new direction, no reason to alienate all these people. I can’t see myself playing a revolutionized Minecraft as long as Microsoft is in charge.
There can’t be a Minecraft 2. That is just Minecraft today. Each update builds on the last. A second version of the game would be redundant.
Eh, the same could probably be said of RuneScape but they tried revolutionizing the game and it alienated enough people that as a reaction they started a second game using old code from years before the update that split the community.
Now there’s RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape… and Old School has the larger community.
But it’s not broken so don’t fix it. [Minecraft]. They can fix bugs and game mechanics etc with updates. Almost anything can be changed, fixed or improved with that alone. If they make Minecraft 2, it would have to be completely different. Like MC story mode was a completely different game.
