SimpleX is under attack by the magazine Wired,

But what surprises me is the reaction of the developer Evgeny Poberezkin,

I had my suspicions he wasn’t a real cypherpunk, because he took venture capital funding to begin with, and that was a red flag in itself.

Yeah let’s see how that’s gonna play out but tbh the reaction was just a simple deflection and as long as the product stays open source and self hostable I don’t really care what the founder says.

The Lemmy founders say some weird tankie shit all the time. I got banned from lemmy.ml for saying there’s a genocide against Uyghurs happening in China, they said that’s racist lol. I still believe lemmy as a technology is useful.

The problem is just when the VC kicks in and starts demanding shitty stuff that’s gonna ruin the whole thing. Probably just a matter of time but until then I believe SimpleX is far from perfect but has a very convincing architecture.

Completely agreed, even if the founder is an absolute ass hat, as long as they make good technology, it’s still worth using it as long as its FOSS.
