The article you linked claims 70% of the reported deaths have been identified. So even if “only” 25k out of 35k people are really dead, that’s still a shit fucking ton of people. How are you arguing about this and not feel the need to take a shower? It’s disgusting.

"Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verified a total of 35,160 civilian casualties during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as of July 31, 2024. Of them, 23,640 people were reported to have been injured. "

That’s a lot fewer dead civilians in a lot more time. I know the situations aren’t the same but it’s still two countries invading another and killing people.

The difference here is that ukraine puts its military at the edge of cities in fortified defensive lines so the ukrainian military can shield ukrainian civilians from danger, where as palestine puts it’s military in bunkers hidden in the middle of cities so the palestinian civilians can shield the palestinian military from danger.

They also put their military among aid convoys and stuff, right? Super convenient.

Palestine does not have an army, Hamas are just a group of people together that lost their home, land, families and friends by massacres done by Israel Occupation Forces.

  1. Does Palestine have an army?

so the palestinian civilians can shield the palestinian military from danger.

This claim always gets used but never do I see the opposite claim while that’s been proven. Israel uses Palestinian people as shields too, heck they even shot their own Israeli citizens death.

  1. The Israeli army’s use of Palestinian civilians as human shields has been documented on a large scale
  2. Israel’s human shields: Its own people
  3. This is how Israel uses its own people as human shields
  4. Israeli troops killed hostages, mistaking their cries for help as ambush -military
  5. 3 hostages killed by Israeli soldier in Gaza were waving a white flag, Israel says
  6. How an Israeli raid freed 4 hostages and killed at least 274 Palestinians in Gaza

Also, Israel has done so many atrocities, it’s genuinely impossible to link them all here;

  1. Strapped down, blindfolded, held in diapers: Israeli whistleblowers detail abuse of Palestinians in shadowy detention center.

  2. Israeli forces’ systemic denial of fair trial rights to Palestinian child prisoners amounts to arbitrary detention

  3. Israel’s PM Netanyahu ‘proud’ of preventing establishment of a Palestinian state

  4. Far-right minister says nuking Gaza an option, PM suspends him from cabinet meetings

  5. Israel Defense Minister Calls Palestinians ‘Human Animals’ Amid Israeli Aggression

  6. Israeli politician: Palestinian prisoners should be allowed to be raped

  7. Born Without Civil Rights; Israel’s Use of Draconian Military Orders to Repress Palestinians in the West Bank

Odd how every single incident you listed takes place after the 1929 Hebron massacre, when Arabs randomly killed jews for no reason.

I hope that, someday, you realize how wrong you are. I hope you don’t just shuffle away from your prior skewed views and act like you weren’t an abhorrent monster. I hope you own up to who you were and carry that shame with you to better yourself as a human being.

Cheers.

Rules:

  • Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:

    • Post news articles only
    • Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
    • Title must match the article headline
    • Not United States Internal News
    • Recent (Past 30 Days)
    • Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
  • Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think “Is this fair use?”, it probably isn’t. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

  • Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.

  • Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

  • Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19

  • Rule 5: Keep it civil. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

  • Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

  • Rule 7: We didn’t USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you’re posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
