-Banned in most states

if we’re talking about U.S. states, that is just not true. most states at least have to show that you intended to use them for commiting burglary.

You can even fly with them! I do a bit of locksport for fun and have gotten quite the side eye when picking open padlocks while waiting for a plane.

Has it gotten worse since the started anrmor and locking the cockpit doors?

I’m old enough that when I flew as an unaccompanied minor in the early 90s, I got to go up to the cockpit to talk to the co pilot. Got some plastic wings from northwest while I was in there too.

Not sure if it’s gotten worse - I’ve only been picking locks since the beginning of the pandemic.
