View all comments Blindness, as I witness it, is not a lazy word for ignorance. It is used when someone did not inform themselves (enough). This could have been out of naïveté or out of malice, but also because one simply didn’t know better. I think “blind” in this case is very accurate.

That really depends on which definition you’re using, there are a lot of them, and figuring out which one it is depends on context. “Ignorance” only fits for one of those definitions, and it’s not a direct replacement in every sense of that meaning.
