COPPA is pretty straight forward — the tl;dr is that websites are not allowed to collect personal info from children under age of 13.
If TikTok have users under the age of 13, and they’re profiling those users the same as they are with adult users (adult users of TikTok? I mean, I also don’t really like TikTok and have a hard time picturing an adult using it as well, but that doesn’t mean it should be held accountable for “future crimes”. At least, that’s what the article is claiming…
