I’ll lift a comment from techdirt:
“Let companies rip off your work, or else only Big Tech will be able to rip off your work”
Maybe we’re so far in capitalist hellholle that we simply consider everything to be for sale. What about GPL work that OpenAI steals? Or personal data? With how secretive they are with data they “scraped” we don’t even know if they have any right at all to repackage and sell it.
What in the actual fucking fuck lol. I mean, times seemed dire but Jesus fucking Christ on rollerskates.
I’ve been thinking about this recently and there’s probably a flaw to this but hear me out and I’m open to hearing why I’m wrong on this.
Basically, we have a fairly large group of countries that are annoyed by companies funneling profits to tax havens. Why won’t we ban companies that do this from operating in EU and other countries participating in anti tax haven coalition? Are some WTO or other treaties preventing this?
The poll was done a month ago, let’s see how it plays out after recent 170k mobilization.
Good on Times of India to make an 8th anniversary piece on this event that took place a continent away. Definitely has nothing to do with government sanctioned war against Muslim minority.

US officials say that Hamas is trying to get their own wounded (combatants / terrorists) out with foreign nationals (a third of total) which both US, Israel and Egypt refuse, understandably. Not backing down from hostage strategy, definitely great way to garner international support.
Windows Central says they might be actually opening up a bit:
We’ve heard from sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans that this may be related to Microsoft expanding its program for approved third-party wireless Xbox controllers. Most Xbox third-party controllers right now are wired.
The misinformation part is obvious but EU is investigating whether handling of this misinformation is done correctly and final charges will likely leverage DSA which is untested. In the end it’ll probably be extremely complex legal case and I don’t expect non-specialized reporters to add their own judgment.
BBC could have titled this article better though.
