Thank you for crossposting.
The adventure itself looks really intriguing and I am going to remember it for when I get around to play Cairn.
This looks like a really solid product. From what I’ve read about Joseph Lewis, he keeps churning out great modules. And although all of his stuff is really high quality, for example in terms of layout, it’s still a one-person-product. Which is impressive, but still: there is room to improve.
This Kickstarter has so much talent attached to it… It’s hard to resist backing it.
Yochai Gal had lot to say about the ORC license in Episode 36 of “Between Two Cairns” (https://www.buzzsprout.com/2042709/12665405-sepulchre-of-dusk). It was a mailbag question.
I do not really see the connection to OSR/NSR content?
And also the associated content creator has a really weird youtube channel. I am not sure what I am looking at here, but I honestly do not want to know.
“Cancelling” is not a thing.
I am not saying that this article is good (I am not saying it’s bad either), but this article doesn’t even say “Orientalism = Yoon-Suin = bad”, and even if it was, there still would not be any “cancelling” going on. Because it’s not a thing, just something people came up with to enforce their image of “culture wars”.
As with everything produced and brought to market by a (huge) company: the will ruin their product in the end (and might have done so already).
But that’s not so terrible. 5e is pretty much an open game with a free license and there is a bunch of Indie RPGs out there and people are still playing (clones of) older editions of DND (I woupd advise anyone who hasn’t heard about that to find out about it).
Oh yeah, I understand, that could be problem.
But they didn’t produce a lot of content for Eberron and Spelljammer for quiet some time, did they? One could say, that that part of their IP has been shitty for some time already.
I just hope the hobby as whole grows and at the same time more people learn about other ttrpg stuff out there. That new Eberrons and new Spelljammers come to be.
