Fahrenheit is such a nice system. 0 is really, really cold and 100 is really really hot. So 50 must just be perfect, right?

Way more intuitive then Celsius.

My MSCI World ETF shares lost about 4% in a day. yesterday. Does this have anything to do with this shitshow?

While those facts might not be wrong in your neck of the woods, they are at least very, very US centric. That is of course ok, as we are talking about the US candidates here. But generally, keep in mind that the world is way bigger than the US. You make up a whole of 4% of the world’s population. And those numbers all vary from country to country.

You might be right there. I’m German. And many a man did come back later, after the war, here. A lot of refugees were forcefully relocated from what is today Poland. Also a lot of POWs came back long after the war was over. So the baby boom was a bit delayed over here.

Kamala was born in 64. She’s a boomer. Also, GTFO with Generation Jones. She’s a boomer. X-ers are those who came after the pill became omnipresent after the mid 60s. I am one of those (born in 77). We are relatively few in numbers in comparison to the boomers. Because of the pill. Also GTFO with Generation Jones. She’s a boomer.

Trump and Biden also aren’t boomers. They predate the boomers. They were born during or shortly after WW2. That’s usually called the silent generation. Trump being part of the silent generation is of course ridiculous. But he’s the exception of the rule, I guess. But both are born very late in that generation, so they are its last remnants I guess. Soon they will all be gone.

From the most recent pics and clips of him in the media: He ist dying. Why isn’t anybody else seeing this? His skin is yellowish and spans over the bones in his face, he can hardly walk, he isn’t really coherent. I really would not be surprised if he doesn’t even make it to the presidential election.

We don’t know if there’s much of a difference between an AI and a brain. If we look “into” an artificial neural net we only see a lot of “weights” that don’t make any sense. If we look into a brain, we also can’t make any more sense of it. The difference is smaller than we want it to be because it seems to either give AIs a lot of credit or it makes us less than we want to be. We are very biased, don’t forget that.

So, how do art students learn? They are doing the exact same things. Only they do a lot less, because natural neural networks (aka brains) are not capable of processing training data as quickly. It’s not as if every artist has to reinvent the wheel and generative AIs don’t and as such have an unfair advantage.

Look at inventions like the printing press! Did everybody like it? The catholic church certainly didn’t! Is it a a phantastic peace of technology anyway? Sure is!
