I have a friend who has come to reflect this exact behavior to an extraordinary degree of accuracy.

It’s interesting because the near puritanical nature of their responses to nearly anything has become more extreme than even the most devoutly religions individuals. Obviously the focus of their evangelizing is very different, but it has become difficult to even have a conversation.

I’ll give you an example: I saw a new game called Pal World, which looked absurd, mentioned and was instantly met with the fact that the game was unacceptable because it supports forced labor.

Additionally, there seems to be an immense amount of hypocrisy in regards to what is good and what is bad, largely driven by what best I can refer to as their “leftist Zeitgeist.” As bad as I can tell now, according to them, I am a liberal, and apparently liberals are bad, and the only true salvation is being a leftist?

Of course, I have a much more varied and complex set of moral and political values that likely don’t fall under a singular label… But what do I know about anything.

Excellent comment, I frequently bring this concept to others attention when the term “colonizer” is used.

Arbitrary and selective use of the term to fit a specific narrative detracts from current day realities.

Somehow people seem to have forgotten that times of peace and respect for manmade borders and laws of sovereign nations are not the norm for history.

I e been espousing #2 for years… Companies used to actually train and invest in their employees, now it’s all about poaching someone else from some other company rather than training and promoting within.

Adding to this, the wealth disparity is going to continue to increase with those who have equities dramatically increasing their personal capitol, while the middle class is going to fall further behind.

I’m convinced a major part of inflation that goes completely ignored is the staggering amount of wealth generated by equities. People have literally seen 1 million become 2 or 3 over the last few years. They have been spending money with complete disregard… Watching what people buy at Costco is insane!

Could you please expand further on your idea of the mastodon accounts? Is this for safe social media use/communication that would be harder to track?

Thanks!!

I don’t understand this map, I live very close to the coast and am 20+ feet above sea level. 5 meters is 16’ 4.85".

The highest point in Pinellas county is 110’, for those who don’t know, it’s the peninsula on West Coast of Florida.

I’m not under the impression there will be a consistent land mass, but something more resembling new islands, keys and beach fronts makes more sense than showing areas entirely underwater.

This is highly unlikely to cause a statistically significant difference in the polls. Having this strong of a view point on the matter is largely isolated to a specific demographic of younger, progressive voters, who are notoriously difficult to reach and accurately account for via traditional polling methods.

It registers as the 15th most important issue via a Gallup poll, and that doesn’t account for which “side” the individuals polled support.

Of the 30% of the population saying it is an “extremely important issue,” it gives no indication of what their desired resolution is.

On the extreme end of the spectrum, consider that 30% of our nation is in a death cult that believes Israel plays a role in their eventual salvation, not to mention how many people are blatantly racist and view anyone with darker skin as a terrorist.

I am registered, politically active, not difficult to locate and have had the same phone number for 20 years, yet, I MIGHT have been polled once in that time!

This isn’t to say there aren’t those who are doing as they say, but it is not likely to move polls one way or another.

Please don’t ban me… I joined .ml because it was privacy, security and FOSS focused! I had no idea about the ancillary political focus now associated with it.

You aren’t thinking corporate profit centric uses…

We can put these on clothing so people can sell their personal ad space to companies!

Look at me, I am the billboard now!

Assuming this isn’t an attempt at trolling, Trump ran up the deficit nearly double that of Biden. Given that the argument is generally government spending leads to inflation, how exactly would that not indicate who is more responsible for inflationary costs?
