No, but unseriously, why shame people for being complacent? Maybe semi-seriously; like, 35% seriously, at best.
Edit: And maybe more seriously but still mostly casually uncaring, you never know what lives other people leave. Also, a campus shuttle is actually amazing if you think about it. Personally, I’d rather be able to do a nice busride to class, but I’m well aware that I can’t waste valuable sleep time with that. And, risk being stinky around other people? No thanks. Also, having to deal with upkeep, storage, and security of a bike? Blegh. It would be cool though to live in a culture that both had the bikes and infrastructure, and didn’t have the thievery.
Also, you gotta remember, a lot of the US is very far apart and is so imbued with car culture and infrastructure. Plus, we, like the rest of humans, just can’t deal with our problems, and just had another major setback existential challenge.

Imo they’re better. Portal was more groundbreaking because of when the first one came out, what valve was doing at the time, because everybody played it, and because of its connection with other games at the time.
But now, it’s just a very good game that (re)introduced portals as a concept into pop culture and repopulatized and proved that AAA puzzle games were possible.
Talos, on the other hand, is a philosophical indie sleeper, and more of a social experiment. I don’t like comparing it to portal, because most people see portal as an insurmountable peak with an impenetrable meme forcefield. And yeah, portal is great. But the Talos games are something very different and stands all on its own.

To me, it (yes I’m unfortunately very aware of current American politics and the rise of fascism) sounds the same as “let’s invade Mexico” or “let’s invade Britain”. Like, bruh, if the us formally invades anybody rn, the country will shut down like a toddler that you’re trying to make skip naptime. We’re on the fucking brink of a civil war, the only things from us that you should be considering is how to integrate cascadia into your country and how to arm us against that ratshit for brains, trump and his billionaire autistic nazi musketeer, musk.
