I think it’s fine in moderation and when it’s some manually curated service like the children’s section of streaming platforms (but even then it’s not perfect considering Cocomelon exists), or in the case of YouTube you’re watching it WITH your kid to avoid running into anything weird (though I think any platform meant for content aimed towards children should be 100% manually curated). The problem is when it’s excessive or it winds up sending your five year old down a bizarre rabbithole of pregnant Spiderman twerking videos because you didn’t bother to moderate what they were watching.

The thing with a lot of the methods mentioned is that I’ve seen both teens that are more mature than me, and people in their thirties that should probably have their internet privileges revoked.

Maybe not outright illegal, but I think it should be heavily regulated. I’ve heard way too many stories of kids being raised in isolation and barely being taught even basic math under the guise of homeschooling.

There’s sheezy.art and inkblot.art which are the ones I use, and Cara.app which I’m not familiar with but seems more professional (like artstation) than the former two. None of these are FOSS though.
