Not the person you replied to, but there is a sit down burger bar near me that I quite enjoy. This place is popular with third party deliveries. I like to go, sit at the bar, and have a burger and beers. I stopped going to the place because every time I go the bar is full of delivery drivers waiting on food to be ready for delivery. We’re talking probably 20 orders per hour. I don’t so much mind the delivery people, but they come and go so frequently, they often lurk about because they want to get going, and they distract the bartender so she can’t do her job well.

The business is making more money by having more sales, but the impact on the dine in experience is so terrible that their delivery gains are likely muted by the loss of dine in business. The only thing corporate sees at the end of the day is that there were more sales transactions which means they made more money, they don’t see the business they lost by having a poor dine in experience.

I think between their argument and your own, yours is the one in more need of citation. Which is more likely, that giving a house to everyone will solve homelessness or that some people have problems beyond just being homeless? He’s not saying that it wouldn’t help some people, he’s just saying that there would still be some number of people who need help beyond this.

If you’re a social and relatively smart person (or just take the minimum requirements) high school is probably really fun and easy. If you aren’t social high school is either a job or a prison.

If you liked high school more than adult life then you probably peaked in high school.

What are you trying to say? Legit question, not sarcasm, just confusion.

MLs? I tried googling it, but the closest approximation is Marxist-Leninists?

That’s kinda fucked up, dude killed some people, never apologized (just that he regretted they got killed at his trial), and dude gets a full pardon?!

I’m not saying he should have been executed, but a full pardon is insane.

I just don’t know enough to be sure how I feel. Besides the two people he killed he also injured another 23. What was the thought process for the bomb? From the article and the pictures it was well above the waterline and so based on the size of the hole the bomb would never have sunk the ship. Was he just young and inexperienced, not realizing his bomb wouldn’t sink the boat? Was he malicious and just trying to kill people? Was he trying to scare people and not really cause any harm?

Depending on the answers to these answers he’s either a monster or an inexperienced kid and I can see cause for leniency or none.

Also, looking at the rest of his history I doubt he would have offered the same pardons he received.

It might be a case of present morals/ethics being applied to the past, but it’s kinda fucked up. It’s literally justifying murder and terrorism. Fighting against strike breaking companies is certainly a admirable, but doesn’t justify killing people.

It’s the same as the Shopping Cart theory. There are a few analogous theories, but they’re all the same. If you don’t return your grocery cart, pick up your pet’s poop, or hold your trash till you find a disposal then you’re an asshole.
