Just side projects building web severs for fun and to learn more about rust.
I have lovingly called my new tech stack SHART

Honestly if I was a cop this might make me avoid them, dealing with that bullshit would be infuriating
I wonder how much altitude matters when boiling eggs
I declare reform!
I agree with this, not being able to install things globally or use other package managers like pip was really annoying. I didn’t spend that much time with it to be honest, but just simply trying to set up a dev environment wasn’t fun. Also I’m pretty sure elixir doesn’t work on nix at least when I tried it
The reason people used to not use soap on cast iron skillets is because soap used to have lye in it which would strip the seasoning from the skillet, most dish soap today does not contain lye and should be used to help properly clean the cast iron.
Also whenever I am helping someone with a new cast iron I always tell them not to worry too much about ruining the seasoning, because I have tried to strip a skillet of its seasoning completely by hand and it was so hard to get it all off
Lmao, I have similar story but it actually worked out in the end for me. When I signed up for the Air Force I did really well on my ASVAB, but I told my recruiter that I wanted to leave as soon as possible because I just wanted to go already. Well she signed me up for open general, meaning the AF would pick my job for me. So I left for boot camp with no job and was assigned Cyber Security Analyst. Which was super lucky because I could have also been a cook or a cop or something
