I mean there is a word for that that’s less derogatory: Stalinist

He’s going up from effectively paying 75% tax to 88%… He’s fully entitled to increase his funding by way more than 45% but the government are keeping a larger chunk rather than increase it by a silly amount, I don’t see a problem with that

Those aliens have 3 fingers. A decimal system to them is like a system based on 14, 196, 2744, 38416, … would be like to us - probably worse than US Customary

Have you ever used either?

To say they’re reversed is pushing it as I’m not sure gnome is at the level of the low poly lara yet

Lighting’s connector itself is great - cables should absolutely be male and USB messed up in that regard. The locking mechanism is also far superior, and overall I’ve had 4 USB C ports fail, 2 due to the locking mechanism and 2 due to the inner male part of the port breaking - these are issues far less with lightning.

That said, the restrictive data speeds and restriction on who can use it, both of which are down to apple, do have a hit on it.

If it was possible to do something along the lines of USB 3.2 (which it should be as USB A manages it with 5 pins vs lightning’s 8/16) over a lightning connector that’d be way better than USB C but you can’t really force apple to give everyone else a proprietary component

Exactly, that just evidences that it’s Apple under Tim Cook that’s bad, not Lightning as a port

Exactly… The issue isn’t spotify taking a very normal cut, it’s the record labels taking a majority cut and it seems this bill misses that entirely

Is it Spotify that arrange the cut for artists or the label though?
I don’t know but I’d think it’s the labels as it’s too much for Spotify to negotiate per-artist?

When food companies use slave labour or cut down old growth forest for intensive farms do we get mad at Walmart/Tesco/Carrefour for having a normal margin on what they buy from the food companies (which may or may not leave enough for the products to be sourced sustainably, but that’s a separate argument as the food companies would likely take a higher margin over keeping the same one and making their food more sustainable if paid more) or do we blame the food companies/their suppliers?
